I think the GSU's are artists in their own right, using "Unwritten" to express themselves and transforming it into something more personally resonant to themselves. By using the medium of "Unwritten" to express themselves, they transform it from a mere song to a great work of art, on par with the Bible, or at least the Mona Lisa. That said, some of the GSUs, like this one are hacks.
